What Is a Contract?
A labor union contract is a legally enforceable document that results from collective bargaining between an employer and a labor union. It acts as a foundation that the parties can build upon as each continually strives to achieve the best possible agreement for those they represent, whether union or management.
The contract contains language agreed to by the parties at the bargaining table and captures their intent. It contains language and processes to enforce the agreement and explain the terms and conditions of employment in many key areas.
