Qualities of a Steward

Knowledge, perseverance, honesty and integrity are as essential to your relationship with the membership as they are to the labor/management relationship. Simply pretending to possess these qualities is not enough, your insincerity will be exposed by your actions.

Respect builds trust but it takes time, it does not happen overnight. Yes, occasionally we file grievances and take management to PERB, but nothing can compare to a working relationship that encourages communication and openness.
