Lesson 4 Summary

This has been a very important lesson in terms of your knowledge and ability to apply the provisions of the contract. Keep in mind that there are other tools available to you such as FMLA, EEOC and ADA. These all provide rights that can be denied to the uninformed. Your role as union steward is to continue with your education and become familiar with all of the rights afforded to employees.

As for the case studies, the names were changed but, unfortunately, these examples come from our files and in terms of context are all too true! That is why, without someone like a union steward watching, management would always have it their way!
