This course is divided into the following sections:

Start Here—which you are currently reading, is designed to help you become familiar with the course and its many features.

Lesson 1 "Get Acquainted with the Steward"—explores the characteristics and competencies of a steward and how any PEF member may become a steward.

Lesson 2 "The Steward as Leader and Communicator"—explains the principles of leadership for stewards and the importance of listening and communicating effectively.

Lesson 3 "The Steward as the Workers' Advocate"—illustrates how stewards defend worker's rights and represent the workers to management.

Lesson 4 "The Steward as the Face of the Union's Future"—describes the steward's role in anticipating and preparing for change.
