Never Too Late

Director of NursingOne Saturday morning the Director of Nursing (DON), Tom Sheets, stopped by the facility to find his friend, Ed Koslowski, a nurse and experienced steward, working the desk. “Hey, Ed.”

“Morning, Tom! What brings you in on a Saturday?”

“I'm afraid I've been asked to make an unscheduled check of the staffing and attendance. Can I have a look at the log book?" After a moment, Tom looked up. "There sure are a high number of mandates for overtime already—it's not even 10 a.m.! It looks like most of these mandates are to cover tardiness!”

“We’re stretched so thin, here, Tom.”
